I create jewellery that evokes emotion. I am inspired by human relationships and the connection we all have to each other. Each piece is imagined designed and created with love in my small studio in Co. Carlow.
I wasn’t always a jewellery maker.
I took the long road to turning my passion into a career but have never looked back. There were tears, fighting fears and there still are.
My first ever job working for an airline took me to far flung parts of the world where I developed a passion for travel & photography and getting lost in jewellery souks. I gathered a memory bank full of stories & inspirations which now influence many of my designs.
My career path took various twists and turns and I placed my dream in my back pocket for a while. With the help of serendipity and encouragement from my nearest and dearest I finally decided to bite the bullet and follow the path to becoming a goldsmith. I left my full time job to work as an apprentice with The School of Jewellery Ireland for 6 months and then decided to study full time at the school.
After graduating with a Distinction in Traditional Jewellery and Goldsmith Skills from The School of Jewellery Ireland, I set up my own business and Yvonne Kelly Jewellery was born. I am a professional member of The Design & Crafts Council of Ireland.
I love what I do. Creating jewellery has a touch of magic to it.
